Self Catering Accommodation in North Norfolk

Great Places to Eat and Drink

There is a fuller and more comprehensive list of great places to eat in each property, but here are a few of our favourites.

The Hunworth Bell

The Green, Hunworth, Melton Constable, NR24 2AA
01263 712300
www.thehunnybell.co.uk

Once again, just down the road from Briningham. The pub has a great atmosphere or eat in the conservatory for a more ‘dining room’ experience. Good seasonal food.

Morston Hall

Morston, NR25 7AA
01263 741041
www.morstonhall.com/dining/

With its Michelin Star we go to Morston Hall for that extra special dining experience. There is a set tasting menu which costs around £75 per person. We can honestly say that it really is a very special ‘foody’ evening – one not to be missed if you are celebrating. If booking mention to owner Galton Blackiston that you are staying at the Joneses property.

Folly Tearoom

Bull Street, Holt, Norfolk NR25 6LN
01263 713569
www.follytearoom.co.uk

My favourite place for a light lunch in Holt… soup and the most delicious cheese scones on a cold winter’s day… can’t beat it! Alternatively – forget supper and go to Folly’s for a decadent afternoon tea which will fill you up until breakfast the next day!

Wiveton Bell

Blakeney Road, Wiveton, NR25 7TL
01263 740101
www.wivetonbell.co.uk

Our top choice locally. We love the atmosphere in the pub and the food is always excellent. On route on a great circular walk from Blakeney along the coastal path to Cley out to the pub and then up to Wiveton Downs before returning to the coastal path back to Blakeney. Dogs welcome.

The White Horse

Brancaster Staithe, PE31 8BY
01485 210262
www.whitehorsebrancaster.co.uk

Multiple award winning restaurant. A spectacular spot for a pub/restaurant and the food doesn’t disappoint. Another great spot for a lunch mid walk along the Coastal Path. Dogs are welcome.

The Dial House

Market Place, Reepham, NR10 4JJ
01603 879900
www.thedialhouse.org.uk

Very local to our home in the beautiful market town of Reepham. The Dial House is the big sister to the city based restaurant ‘Farmyard’ in Norwich. Both are run on the principal of fine produce not fine dining and each cook over sustainably sourced charcoal on a Bertha oven.

Kings Head

Holt, NR25 7AA
01263 712543
www.kingsheadholt.org.uk

Town centre pub where excellent steaks and real ale are a speciality.

No 1 Cromer

1 New Street, Cromer, NR27 9HP
01263 512316 – downstairs
01263 515983 – upstairs
www.no1cromer.com

At the other end of the coast… the best fish and chips around. The restaurant is owned by Michelin starred chef Galton Blackiston. Set right on the seafront with amazing sea views. Eat in downstairs or takeaway. Alternatively go Upstairs at No 1 for a unique fish dining experience.

The Anchor

Morston, NR25 7AA
01263 741392
www.morstonanchor.co.uk

Our favourite place to eat after being out in the boat. Delicious, locally sourced food. In the winter – the Haddock Chowder is an absolute must. A perfect place for a pit stop on a walk from Blakeney… four legged friends are welcome.

French’s Fish and Chips

The Quay, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1AH
01328 710396
www.frenchs.co.uk

Simply the best fish and chips in Wells… which is why you often have to queue along the pavement, when the other fish and chip shop next door is empty!

The Crawfish

Holt Road, Thursford, NR21 0BJ
01263 878313
www.crawfishinn.com

Fancy a takeaway? Like Thai food? This is the best Thai food for miles around and all the better, because it is only just down the road from Briningham.

The Kings Head

Holt Road, Letheringsett, NR25 7AR
01263 712691
www.kingsheadnorfolk.co.uk

Only a few miles down the road from Briningham. We love the atmosphere in The Kings Head. I have had some excellent fish here on more than one occasion.
